Sudbury Leather and Gay Mens Annual Leather Denim Run

  • August 16 to 23, 2012
  • Pick from the full week ($290) or the weekend ($130) package. Includes site, all meals

Registration is now open for our our annual August Cabin / Camping Leather Denim Run – a casual, friendly social week (or weekend) at an isolated camp an hour north of Sudbury. With a Cabin 4 equipped with various loaner equipment to try out, plus other areas to do what you like with.  It’s a great time to connect with other leather and adventurous guys of all levels, with no pressure to do anything other than what you want to do with your time there.

This year, it’s Aug. 16 to 23, 2012 — Thursday to Thursday. We have 4 large cabins, that sleep up to 24 guys, with single and double beds. You can come for the full week, just the weekend, or whatever combo you want. Cost is $130 for the weekend, or $290 for the full week – which is a great deal, considering it includes the camp site, all meals, and space in a cabin with bedding provided.

There’s propane fridges and stoves, full running water, showers, and lights in the cabins. There is no electricity, but arrangements can be made for anyone with CPAP or other electrical needs. More details about the run facilities here.

Step Down Speech

Firstly, I’d like to thank all the dead people who helped me to practice
my speech for the International LeatherSIR/Leatherboy competition in San Francisco.  boy ian, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2010 and International Leatherboy 2010 invited me over to his work – a funeral home – to practice my speech.  Thanks!

Thank You to Master Chuck for being not only my Sir of 8 years but also
TitleSIR for the past year, and for putting up with me.

Brandon and Dan – thank you for being who you are within the community and for your work on ECLSb, Rough House and for being the best producers of any LeatherSIR/Leatherboy competition.

To my partner Master Scott, who dealt with the long periods of me being
away as I traveled not only with the title but often with a work trip
taking place just before or after a title trip.

To my brothers in Master Chuck’s Leather Family who stood by us, thank you for listening to me gripe about things I was seeing in my travels however there are three individuals who I want to specifically recognize and I’d like you to come up to the stage when I call your name

  • slave Eric, for everything that he does to help keep Sir organized which benefits all of us and has done for many years.
  • my former boy matt, North American Bootblack 2008, for looking after Sir’s Leathers, for being a guide as I looked after my own Leathers, and for putting us up during O/our first trip
  • Sir David for helping Sir and I be prepared at CLAW and Mr. Leather Ottawa.  We could not have survived those weekends without Your assistance Sir
  • slave Joe for helping Sir and I during ILSb and Western Canada LeatherSIR, and even this weekend – and also for being one of my mentors.

Now let’s talk about the year –

  • Firstly, the titleholder curse did make an appearance – as a boy I have done more topping this year at play parties than I have bottoming.  That said, I’m not complaining and I’m not going to say that this needs to change – after all, why shouldn’t boys top and why should subs receive all the pleasure? *GRIN*  There’s nothing hotter than being ordered to top.
  • There were new lows (259lbs – first time in 15 years) and highs (282lbs)
  • I never thought I’d ever be tied up with people trying to bat a ball at my nuts, which happened at CLAW.
  • Who knew that all eyes would be on Sir and me as Sir kicked and stomped me at ILSb as I yelled, “FUCK YOU!”.  As Dan tweeted – “His voice said fuck you, his eyes say more please Sir”.
  • Most importantly I’ve been able to branch out and explore new kinds of play
    • More bondage!
    • Rubber sleep sacks
    • Edging and straight jackets
    • Electro!
    • I have become much more of a boot man and boy, and have an appreciation for all kinds of boots.
  • We travelled a lot – together and separate
    • Sudbury
    • North Bay
    • Detroit
    • Erie
    • Cleveland
    • Ottawa
    • Chicago
    • Calgary
    • San Francisco
    • Portland among the other destinations I hit for work and personal reasons.
  • We did a lot
    • Judged MI LSb
    • Attended CLAW and assisted with their fundraisers
    • Co-hosted Kink in the City – A fundraiser for Toronto PWA Foundation
    • Crude Weekend – Kicked up The Point
    • Toroto Pride – And showed Toronto what Leather was all about – and they lapped it up.  Kudos to Reuters!
    • Toronto Leather Pride – Saw one of the largest attendances of any seminar
    • Tease – Where we showed who we are to the pan community, eager to learn
    • M Cuir Ottawa/Mr Leather Ottawa- Paying homage to my old stomping grounds
    • American Brother Hood Weekend – Putting a Canadian face to Leather
    • Judging Western Canada LeatherSIR/boy and promoting Canadian unity and brotherhood
    • And somewhere in there was a small contest called International
    • LeatherSir/boy where people seem to have completely forgotten the concept of cowboy movies. *GRIN*
  • Most importantly I re-found my voice in teaching in our community and I appreciate Master Chuck standing by me during the seminars that we presented.

This has been the year of great personal growth, fun, good thinking and
some interesting play.

If there is one piece of advice I have to our new titleholders, is be who
you are and don’t pander to someone else’s image.  Not only do we have our own Canadian-way of ‘doing’ Leather which is recognized – the number of times people from the US commented on how relaxed we are with our community protocols was astounding. *GRIN*

As I come to a close, I want to point out – we’re not going away:

  • There are still many kinky folk out there hungry for information and for hot play
  • This is a title circuit I still believe in
  • Kink in the City 2 is coming up on July 14th
  • Revenge of the Subs is coming in March (MUHUHUHU!)
  • And I am involved with So You Want To Be Kinky

Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy 2012 Contest Results

Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy 2012 Contest Results
Thug Rocco from Sudbury wins LeatherSIR; boy alex from Kingston wins Leatherboy

(Toronto, Canada) – Organizers of the Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy 2012 contest weekend are pleased to announce the winners of the regional titles. The ECLSb 2012 contest was held on Saturday, February 18 in Toronto.

When the scores were tallied, Thug Rocco from Sudbury, Ontario, claimed the title of Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2012, and boy alex from Kingston, Ontario claimed the title of Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2012. With only one contestant running for each title, each contestant had to achieve a minimum score of 70% to win.

Sir Rocco and boy alex will advance to compete at the International LeatherSIR/Leatherboy 2012 contest weekend, Thursday, July 26 through Sunday, July 29 in San Francisco, coinciding with the Dore Alley leather street fair. (See http://www.LeatherSIR.com for more information.)

The ECLSb contest weekend ran from Friday, February 17 through Monday, February 20 (the provincial holiday). The official Meat & Greet with contestants, judges and attendees was held Friday night at Black Eagle Toronto. The ECLSb Contest took place Saturday afternoon at Goodhandy’s, followed by a Victory Party later that night at Black Eagle Toronto that coincided with a Toronto Leather Pride and Toronto Ontario Rubber Network (TORN) bar night. About 40 Saturday night survivors were up in time to join the new ECLSb titleholders at the Sunday Victory Brunch at the Churchmouse & Firkin. The weekend event with the most sex and sweat was the Squeal Leather Party held Sunday afternoon at Steamworks. Monday was a day for socializing, and saying good-bye to out of town guests and judges.

The panel of judges for the ECLSb contest included: International LeatherSIR 2011 Alan Penrod, from Atlanta (GA), who served as head judge; International Leatherboy 2011 pup Nitro, from Atlanta (GA); International Community Bootblack 2011 Luna, from Oakland (CA); Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2011 Master Chuck, from Sudbury (ON); Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2011 boy iain, from Toronto (ON); and International LeatherSIR 2009 Tony Palazzo. The panel was expanded to six judges from the traditional five, to resolve a conflict of interest that stemmed from a personal relationship between the Sir contestant and Master Chuck. Master Tony judged only the Sir contestant, while Master Chuck judged only the boy contestant.

Contest staff included: Tally Master boy Alex Dunlop, from Toronto (ON); Judge’s boy Pup Kalen, from Toronto (ON); Den Daddy Dan Madden, from Toronto (ON); Stage Manager Fenn, Mr International Rubber 2010, from Toronto (ON); and, Box Office Manager was Gloria McIsaac, from Toronto (ON). Returning as emcee for the sixth year was Tom Stice, International slave 1995 and Southeast Mr Drummer 1998, of Chicago (IL).

The contest also marked the official step-down of Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2011 Master Chuck and Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2011 boy iain.

During the contest, a special Boy’s Spirit Award was presented in memory of Andrew MacDonald, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2005, who passed away in July 2011 following a battle with cancer. The Boy’s Spirit Award was presented to ECLb’11 boy iain, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to the leather community, player’s lifestyle, and educational outreach and volunteer work.

The 2012 ECLSb Community Builder Award was presented to Paul H, of Toronto, for his volunteer work and support of ECLSb and Rough House (http://www.RoughHouse.ca) over the past year.

LeatherSIR/Leatherboy are “player’s titles,” erotic titles representing the sexual side of gay leather men. The primary goal of ECLSb is networking and outreach, to help educate the community about leather men, our erotic expression, traditions and history — and of course, BDSM and hot leather sex. Contestants were judged in four categories: Interview; Speech & Image; Physique; and Leather Sex Fantasy scene. The contestant’s interview portion took place prior to the contest; the three remaining categories took place on stage during the contest. Contestants had to incorporate the theme of “Retro” into their fantasy scene. The fantasy portion is what sets the ECLSb contest apart from many other contests styled after the International Mr. Leather and Mid-Atlantic Leather formats.
